Privacy policy

What we collect on skan.ge, why, and the choices you have. Draft for legal review; last updated 29 October 2026.

What we collect

  • Account data: name, email, phone, and for businesses the company details needed for verification.
  • Listing data: everything you publish, including photos and the location you choose to show.
  • Usage data: searches, saved listings, device and browser information, and approximate location derived from your IP address.
  • Messages: enquiries and viewing requests sent through Skan, so we can deliver them and handle disputes.

How we use it

  • To run the marketplace: show listings, deliver enquiries, send the alerts you switch on.
  • To keep it safe: verification, duplicate and fraud detection, moderation and audit logs.
  • To improve it: aggregated analytics such as price per square metre by district, never attributed to a person.

What advertisers see

When you contact an advertiser they receive your name and the contact details you entered. Your saved searches, favourites and browsing are never shared with advertisers.

Your choices

  • Hide your exact address on a listing by choosing an approximate location.
  • Switch alerts and marketing emails off at any time in your dashboard.
  • Download your account data or delete your account yourself under Your data in the dashboard. Deleting signs you out everywhere, archives your own listings and erases your name and contact details; orders stay on record for accounting. Anything else, ask us and we respond within 30 days.

Cookies

We use only essential cookies: sign-in, the admin console, and your market, language and currency choices. There are no analytics or advertising cookies, so there is nothing to consent to; if that changes we will ask first. Browser storage holds your favourites, compare list and drafts so they survive a reload.

Retention and security

Listings are kept for 12 months after they expire so you can relist them, then deleted. Messages are kept for 24 months for dispute handling. Data is encrypted in transit and at rest and access is logged.
